Unfortunately, Cameroon still remains one of the most hostile environments for business anywhere in Africa. It takes forever to register a business; and no sooner is it registered than the taxman shows up at your door. Sometimes so many of them show up, asking for the payment of a tax on this and a tax on that, that you are frankly confused as to what you're really expected to pay. The tax laws seem so fluid that anyone can interpret them whichever way they like and be right!!

Who shall rescue us from the tyranny of tax collectors and customs officers in this country? When shall our government understand that too many taxes kill business, for crying out loud!!!??
